Holísticos organized, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment (MCTA), a debate on the General Regulation for Environmental Impact Assessment and the Environmental Licensing Procedure (Presidential Decree No. 177/20 of 22 April) . This debate took place on May 6, 2020 through the Zoom platform and included the participation of independent consultants and representatives of environmental consulting companies.
The main objective of this debate was the presentation of the main changes promoted by the regulation, its interpretation and the gathering of contributions to improve the procedures of Environmental Impact Assessments. The presentation of the diploma was in charge of Eng.ª Nelma Caetano and Dr. Miranda Kiala (representing the MCTA) and moderated by the Technical Director of Holísticos, Vladimir Russo. Various recommendations were made to the MCTA that included a three-month moratorium on ongoing projects, the development of a manual of procedures to clarify some of the gaps in the regulation and the clarification of doubts through the definition of frequently asked questions.
